性能：
本品为无色或淡黄色液体,溶于水，乙醚及乙醇。化学性质很活泼，易聚合成白色树脂状固体。
用途：
乙二醛能与含有羟基的化合物生成缩醛，主要用作乙醛酸、M2D树脂、咪唑等产品的原料，以及作明胶、动物胶、乳酪，聚乙烯醇和淀粉等的不溶粘合剂、人造丝的阻缩剂等。
1）在医药上，主要用于专用环咪唑类药物，如甲硝唑、二甲硝咪唑、咪唑等；
2）在中间体方面，主要用作乙醛酸，D—对羟基苯甘氨酸，尿囊素、苯酶咽，黄连素等；
3）在轻纺方面，主要用作服装整理剂，2D树脂、M2D树脂等；
4）在造纸行业，主要用作施胶剂，增加纸张抗湿强度；在高分子化学方面是一种非常有效的交联因子，作交联剂；
5）在建筑行业，用作水泥的固化剂，提高凝固强度，用作治理山体滑坡，可阻止泥土流失，防止塌方。

Uses:
Glyoxal can form acetals with compounds containing hydroxyl groups. It is mainly used as raw materials for glyoxylic acid, M2D resin, imidazole and other products, as well as insoluble adhesives for gelatin, animal glue, cheese, polyvinyl alcohol and starch, and shrinkage inhibitors for rayon.
